La Villa Perrusson et son jardin - Écomusée Creusot Montceau
Late summer light sublimates the ceramics and garden at Villa Perrusson
The Villa Perrusson is nestled in an autumnal green setting. The ochre of the ceramics adorning the facades and roofs meets the golden hues of the vegetation. A unique house to discover! Take advantage of the autumn season to explore the interiors, which have now been completely restored. Finish off with a green break in the garden.
Built between 1869 and 1895, the Villa Perrusson is the symbol of the success of the Perrusson-Desfontaines family, entrepreneurs of tiles and architectural ceramics. It comprises two adjoining pavilions decorated with polychrome ceramics. This villa is an exceptional testimony to local industrial history. Its architecture and remarkable decorative features make it a unique piece of heritage in the Burgundy region. The rehabilitated landscaped grounds of this splendid manor house include an orangery and a pond, in the style of English gardens.
From 3 May 2025, take a trip back to the Belle Époque! Discover the history of the Villa Perrusson and the furnished and decorated interiors of the Desfontaines pavilion, as the residents of the early 20th century might have known them. During the 2025 season, the park and exhibition space will host a temporary exhibition inviting you to discover the wonderful world of gnomes.
The entire Villa Perrusson site (garden, furnished interiors, temporary exhibition) is open to the public.
Guided tours of the furnished interiors are available at 2pm, 3pm, 4pm and 5pm, and at 10am, 11am and 12pm in July and August (duration approx. 50 minutes, registration at reception).
In order to preserve the decor, backpacks and walking sticks with shoe tips are not permitted in the furnished interiors. Lockers are available in the cloakroom area (under video surveillance).
