COULANGES-SUR-YONNE
Coulanges-sur-Yonne is a county town with a population of 547, located on the RN151, 35 km south of Auxerre and 9 km north of Clamecy. The river Yonne, the Canal du Nivernais and the railway line linking Auxerre to Corbigny run through the town. In recent years, the Communauté de Communes du Pays de Coulanges-sur-Yonne and the municipality have created a business park, renovated and built new housing, and contributed to the installation of new services: crèche, day nursery, extension of the school, school restaurant, after-school care, day-care centre, multi-sports school, medical centre, home help and care. With all the main shops, a leisure centre (playgrounds, tennis courts, mini-golf, boules, campsite, etc.), a harbour, a beautiful church, attractive footpaths (banks of the Yonne, canal, costats overlooking the valley, forest) and around fifteen associations, the village is also proud of Jean-Michel Doix and Marie-Lucie Trinquand, its renowned wood-fired potters.
