Château de Montigny
Between 2021 and 2025, a major programme of work was carried out in conjunction with the DRAC, involving a complete overhaul of the slate roof, renovation of the roof timbers and restoration of certain architectural features, including fireplaces, cornices and the brick surrounds so typical of the region. The aim was to restore the building to its original, purely 17th-century appearance. Today, it's done. As visitors will tell you, Montigny is not a castle like any other. The different styles of interior decoration will surprise you as you move from one room to the next. A place of exception, it is the opposite of an impersonal museum or a rather cold château. It's a warm, lively place, full of history and memories.
You can also discover the collection of revolutionary earthenware on display at the château.
In the peaceful, bucolic grounds, you'll love the vast expanses of flower-filled lawns, the beautiful avenue of lime trees, and the hundred-year-old cedars of Lebanon that shelter our peacocks. Three small ponds feed an old fishery and offer a pleasant walk. This tranquil setting lends itself perfectly to picnics in an exceptional setting. During the open season, Château de Montigny hosts cultural events, shows and entertainment.
